The game is about matchups first then pattern recognition, the right armor and monster can make every battle a piece of cake, by the end of it i was consistently killing Fatalis in like 5 minutes
Even then if you can manage your battle pouch and anticipate your enemy you can get away with using whatever you like without min-maxing
You're supposed to change your monster at the start of the battle to something favorable, if you wait until your kinship gauge is full before doing so then you deserve to get punished
>i can't switch out my trainer thus leaving him vulnerable as a possible enemy target to which i would lose a life.Use a bead to negate enemy damage, a trap to immobilize it a few turns, an item to recover a heart, or an armor/charm with tenacity that leaves you with 1 HP if your health bar is above half and use a potion next turn
If you ever decide to give it another try i recommend you use SnS since it's the 'easy mode switch' with item saver passive, the game is quite easy once you get the hang of it and the only challenge it has to offer is the 1.2 tower that only got released on Japan
I mean at some point you have to fight 3 Kirin and a bit further, 2 Rajang
