>>44699418You're confusing Hattrem’s Pokédex entries with Hatterene's. HATTREM is the one who beats people unconscious if they feel too strong of an emotion around it, regardless of context. Hatterene only "tears people apart" if it senses excessive hostility or if you're ear rape levels of loud. It's not cold hearted or cruel, it's just easily stressed out when it's bombarded by too much noise or hostile intent. And this is only for a wild Hatterene. If you meet Bede in the Potbottom Desert he'll remark about how she likes out of the way places like this as it keeps her from being stressed out from sensing too many emotions, implying that for a trained Hatterene loud noises and too many emotions are an annoyance rather than something that will send them into a rage. Even other NPC's will comment on something similar to this, such as how wild pokemon are much scarier while trained ones can be very kind and friendly.
Hatterene has been meme'd to death as being this bundle of hate and anger but that's not really accurate, and it certainly wouldn't beat up it's trainer unless the trainer was awful in general. I miss PokeAmie/Refresh for the little details it had like this, but that mode actually helped portray this extremely clearly: freshly caught pokemon tend to be much less helpful or friendly to the player, but as they gain affection for you they'll warm up to the player and sometimes even change their behavior. A wild Hatterene would attack someone who was too loud, but a Hatterene who has bonded with it's trainer would probably just get them to knock it off.
tl;dr:
Hatterene's behavior has been grossly exaggerated by the internet and is either taken out-of-context or confused with that of Hattrem, and most people tend to ignore that many violent pokemon will be absolutely adoring or loving towards their trainers due to the bond that forms between them.
