Strong fast but also frail, and literally anyone can predict Protean for an easy kill. Personally I'd like to say Swampert has the best all around for a Water starter. Like if you look up "Bulky Water Type" The first picture you get will be Swampert.

Hasn't been introduced yet, but will most definitely have a renamed Protean/Libero as its ability.

At this point, if I were a GF designer and wanted the starters to each be "good" without shilling any particular one, I'd ditch Overgrow/Blaze/Torrent and replace them with Grassy Surge/Fiery Surge/Water Surge

Yeah, it's good enough for this Gen, wouldn't surprise me in later Gens they give it some shit like Play Rough or Wild Charge.
