I fucking love how much effort it takes to get Milotic. It's easily one of the strongest pokemon in the game, it should be that hard to get. It also makes you engage with 3 of the game's core mechanics, berry growing, pokeblock making, and battling, in order to get it, which is perfect. It's the perfect faggot filter. If you had one of these fuckers to show your friends at school as a kid you'd get hailed as a king.
The only real crime is how stupidly hard it is to get feebas, honestly getting it to evolve is enough of a rarity filter to justify how good milotic is, if they just made it a swarm mon on route 119 like skitty and surskit it'd be a lot better

Milotic is what Gyarados should've been.
I get what they were going for. You baby a weak Pokemon and are rewarded for your dedication with a strong Pokemon. But Gyarados isn't really strong enough to justify that dedication, and reaching level 20 really isn't that hard.
Feebas is ridiculously hard to find, and it had the most obtuse evolution method in the game, but the reward for raising it was actually good.

I don't remember there even being a -hint- to Milotic's evolution in the original RSE.
I had to look that shit up on a website.
I mean I -guess- if you wanted to specifically use Feebas in a contest with beauty moves or something, you'd stumble upon its evolution method. Maybe.
At least with Regis if you knew braille you'd be able to figure it out, Milotic had the most obtuse wtf method of evolution in the series until Gen 8.

I've never had a problem with getting a milotic, the biggest issue is finding one of the tiles... but once i find one, i capture like 30 lil dudes so i don't have to do that again. Or you can take a picture.
