Reminder that literally everyone in the PML canonically loses to a team of Pikachu/Snivy, Tyranitar, Starmie/whatever freebie pair is featured in the story chapter. If Clair for example is featured in the chapter where we fight Lance/Steven/Cynthia, she will become the strongest dragon type trainer in Masters canon.

I'm confused as to why the series wanks Cynthia as hard as it does. When you look at other champion figures - Lance and his dragons and crimefighting, Alder traveling the region to kick ass and teach others important life lessons, etc. - Cynthia is really just a really attractive mythology geek that turns out to be the Champion at the end. Kinda like female Steven or something. I feel half convinced that she got memed into god-tier Trainer status after DPPt and everyone bitching about how hard they got raped by her Garchomp.
