Post your favorite pokémon from the generation with the least designs you like (before Gen 8, of course). Also comment on when they looked best for you.

I loved the Poochyena/Mightyena line even in Gen 3 but I really liked how fluffy and ferocious they looked in Gen 4.

Johto is weird for me. There are so many designs I hate in those games but then those designs I love are ones that I REALLY love. And the games themselves are some of my favorites to play. It even has my favorite fire starter.

Runner-ups include Feraligatr, Heracross, Gligar, and Tyranitar. But Donphan is too good.

Are you a zoomer who started with Unova by any chance?
Gen 2 has a lot of "bland" designs, but it doesnt have any really offensive ones (in the vein of Vanilluxe, ThrohSawk, Genies, Incineroar, Mr Rime, Gen 8 fossils...etc)

There's like 10 designs I love in Gen 3, then 15 others I'm positive on. The rest are either just there or anything negative. My favourite in the gen is probably Banette, but Swampert and Zamgoose are close. Also this gen has the Regis so I can't give it too much slack

Gen 4's batch was so bad that I skipped the gen and only finally played it a year ago.

That being said, there are a surprising amount of runner-ups here for me now that I look over the list: Torterra, Luxray, Garchomp, Heatran, Froslass, Giratina, Shaymin (regular form fuck the other one), Regigigas, and Arceus are all high tier designs to me

One of the few pokemon from Gen 2 that I love because of it's intimating looks. The problem I have with Johtomon is that many of them look either bland or obivously meant to pave the way for cross-evos.
