Then we got to Jirachi. A Pokemon that can grant wishes sounds Mythical-worthy, but the games never did anything with it.
Deoxys could have just been a normal Legendary and Gen 3 Mewtwo equivalent found in Meteor falls. That might have even been the original idea before they scrapped it and just abruptly stopped Meteor Falls here.
Then we get to Gen 4, the only Mythical-worthy Pokemon here is Arceus. Shaymin and Manaphy could have just been regular Pokemon, and Darkrai could have been another Legendary Mewtwo equivalent. It even has a counterpart (Cresselia) that is a normal Legendary.
Victini being a source of infinite energy is interesting, and Keldeo has a neat connection the region's legendary trio, but Meloetta could have just been a normal Pokemon, and Genesect could have just been Gen 5's Mewtwo.
Diancie could have just been Carbink's evolution. Hoopa is Mythical-worthy, but again, the games do nothing with it. Volcanion could have just been a regular Legendary.
Magearna is alright, but neither Marshadow nor Zeraora needed to be Mythical. Marshadow could just be a Legendary, and Zeraora could just be a normal wild Pokemon.
Zarude suffers from the same issue as Zeraora.
