That's a very bad reasoning. If both types are redundant, there will never be a bug/fighting Pokemon.
Als heroism is a very subtle part of the bug type, I don't think Heracross design mentions heroism in any way.

I thought Vespiquen could be bug/psychic and as a bit of a switch-up Orbeetle could be Dark/Pyschic despite being a bug
I think Gardevoir line should just be Ghost type, Florges should be pure Grass, and Hatterene should be pure Fairy. Actually I think around half of the pokemon could be retyped.
