on every pokemon cartridge a certain section of the wiring correlates to a certain pokemon, you have to take a very fine needle to it (hence the term) and press down on it with about 0.5 bars of pressure and when you boot it back up you'll trick the game into spawning what you want

Mod your Switch. Back up the Sword/Shield save. Open it in Pkhex. Hack in the Pokémon you want. Save the file. Restore the new save file with the modified Pokémon.

Switches after a certain release date can't be modded, at least for now. For once "just inject lol" isn't the easy answer
