For the consumer, yeah. Glorious endgame adding tons of replayability and dozens of extra hours to your purchase.

For the company, no. It's effort and man-hours wasted on something casuals won't reach, money that could be better spent on marketing or marketable features that are available right at the start of the game and can be featured prominently on gameplay trailers. Also from a philosophical perspective the company doesn't want you making the most out of your purchase, they want you to be done with the current product as soon as possible so you can move on to the next product.

Literally the only way I play pokemon nowadays is the platinum battle factory. Just endless platinum battle factory. That and the tower. Its perfect for waiting on the bus or in a restaurant when I'm alone. Quick 15 minute run. Doesn't require a lot of attention.

Don't you access BF right as you win the league?
I mean, I get casuals not bothering with BF but they are able to get there

It also doesn't require as much effort as you might think, it's mostly tweaking pre-existing code.

it's pretty overrated. yea it adds a lot of extra hours but a lot of it is spent breeding & grinding up comp-level teams and fighting the same repetitive AI over and over. pokemon battling against the AI becomes dull when you're on an even playing field.

there were some cool facilities though. factory requires no prepwork to play, and pyramid & pike offer genuinely nice twists since you have to deal with wild pokemon too. gamefreak should've polished up the good ones instead of cutting it entirely

It would be good if it wasn't so reliant on RNG, you need hundreds of victories and the AI only needs one, it's bound to happen you'll run into some hax
Though that was back in the day, nowadays with powercreep it'd be more of a hassle and at most it'd add a couple hours of tedious grind

I mean last i bothered with a battle facility was XY and you could break it with Mega-mom alone, and i doubt things are getting harder in more recent games

Yes.

There's no reason any game with a Battle Tower or equivalent should not have a Battle Factory. If you went through the game with a shit team like 99% of people do, then it's the only facility that's playable for them in the postgame. The Factory has been in both iterations of the Battle Frontier, so they don't need to come up with anything new, and by making the Tower, they already made all the sets for the Pokemon that can appear there.
