Why is this cunt still allowed to direct games? All the games he's been director on have turned out to be utter garbage.

And yet they've still sold millions upon millions. I agree with you that they're garbage, but pokemon sells by brand recognition alone now. He's not going anywhere as long as that fat paycheck keeps coming in.

just because we think the games where bad doesn't mean the masses do, the games have been selling well

also keep in mind that relative quality of the game is only one aspect of being the director, it could also just be that hes great at managing time and pushing out product, which with pokemon on the yearly schedule it is, would be useful

Wait, did he actually? Like, he designed the lay out of the region or the individual routes themselves? Or did he literally decide how the map would look? If it's either of the first 2 I have all new respect for this man.

He was the overall map designer lead, so presumably all of the locations had his guidance/hand more or less. Gen 4 he also helped write the story too.

I didn't say character design, I just meant his art style. When I complained about the ugly modern Pokemon art style (the way the humans are drawn), somebody told me Ohmori draws the trainers now, not Sugimori.
