>>44744397>So what's the deal with aura? It's like chi but has to do with emotions? In japanese it's called "wave", tough it's probably meant to be another word for chi, life-energy etc. It probably has a different "frequency" and "wavelenght" depending on emotions, being good or evil etc. I know the adventure manga went deeper on this during the DP years, even outright comparing it to sound, but it's validity when it comes to the games may be debatable (I believe it may give a glimpse at the original intention before localisation kicked in).
>And Lucario is all about it because it's a fighting Anubis and he can judge people's hearts? That's just baseless speculation. For some reason people go to great lenghts to justify the assumption that the line is based on Anubis, like saying that it's also based on ""egyptian kickboxing"" even tough nothing about its fighting style resembles kickboxing. If aura is based on chi, and asian concept, why apply it to an agyptian god?
I believe it has more to do with Lucario being a dog. Dogs are social and succeptible to the emotional state of those close to them. The line takes this concept and turns it into an archtypical fighting-monk lifestyle.
Pokemon like Dialga, Palkia and Giratina may have aura sphere to show that they are powerful, if we see the chi-like aura in Dragon Ball Z terms. OR, if we take the word "wave" literally, there may be some association going on with the laws of physics those pokemon represent.
