For real though. Even with Aurora Veil and abilities to take advantage of Hail, is just isn't quite viable enough and it hurts.

The abilities are shit to go with Hail but 1/16 of your opponent's health every turn and Aurora Veil into setting up is no joke.

Some of the Hail abilities can be useful, but they definitely don't cut it.

I had fun in an Ice mono-type run recently though. I don't really care about Dynamaxing, but Eiscue is pretty good at wasting it. Ice Face will soak up a hit for free, it can start up Hail again to replenish it immediately, and it can learn Protect. It's very easy to just waste all three turns AND set up the weather.
