And if I remember correctly it was supposed to link with Sleep specifically so Sleep could connect with Go and had very little use in Go alone so holding it back after covid fucked everyone's plans and likely caused them to reshuffle their development and release schedule for Sleep and Detective Pikachu 2 makes sense. As for us never hearing about them again, when's the last time we got any news on a spin-off outside of an announcement or it being almost ready to launch? TPC likes to keep everything under wraps as long as possible.
