doesnt matter, use it anyway.
when you start worrying about if a mon is shit or not for an in-game playthrough, you're already doing it wrong.
unless its completely irredeemable like luvdisc.

I had one in an Ultra Sun Nuzlocke and it was pretty good. I almost didn't catch it, though, because it has a catch rate of 30 compared to the normal 255, so be prepared for that.

The game is piss easy to where you can use anything. And Honchkrow isn't a weak mon.
Do be aware though that HGSS iirc doesn't hand out Dusk Stones before Natdex

Honchkrow is one of my favorite pokemon, surprisingly great in game becuase it has repsectable mixed offenses with decent bulk and speed. Also night slash+super luck is a fun combo.

On my last playthrough of hgss, I used a special Honchcrow with super luck+air cutter (high criticism chance). It has nasty plot and dark pulse so it was nice. It can only learn air cutter from a gen 4 love tutor, so if you want to try a special Honchcrow it is your best place.

Honchkrow is one of my favourite ingame bros. Murkrow is always useful straight off the bat with strong stats and good stab moves. Also lots of room for interesting movesets: dark pulse, sucker punch, heat wave, icy wind, superpower
