I like it when they show weird displays of futuristic technology, like Larousse city from the Deoxys movie, it adds flavor to the setting.
Maybe it's not that common of an opinion, but I genuinely like Pokemon's approach of, vaguely like the real world(without meaning "realistic"), vaguely like fantasy. It's an interesting overlap.
