Gen 4 is so fun with DPPt and HGSS. Don’t get me wrong Gen 3, 5, 6, and 7 are pretty based as well but gen 4 is just this untouchable god that presents this vast array of godly games. Has great mons, makes gen 1 and 8 fans seethe and froth, god tier characters and stories, amazing region design, and based legendaries.

Gen 4 and gen 8 are the best—especially when dpp remakes and lets go johto will be included soon.

>>44765612 I don’t see the appeal of gen 8. Don’t get me wrong I think there are some cool mons but it’s absurd to cut the dex considerably make some Pokémon available through bank; not all need found in wild yes

>>44765625 >I don’t see the appeal of gen 8 Not the same anon but don't care. I don't think gen 8 is the best, but there are quite a few aspects that I like about it
>Raihan being the first non-monotype gym leader since gen 4 >That mechanic in Opal's gym battle where she asks the player a question and depending on the answer the player's pokemon will get their stats increased or decreased. It's execution wasn't the best, but it's a step in the right direction towards making gym battles more unique and innovative >Getting pokemon to level 100 for hyper training isn't nearly as tedious as it was in gen 7 >This is subjective, but I like Galar's fossils better than any mon from gen 6 or 7 >This is also subjective but I like the battle tower theme, Marnie's battle theme and the Salon theme >Camp is an improvement over Amie/Refresh. I like being able to have the whole team on screen at a time as opposed to only one mon at a time >Hop changing out his team members for some of his battles made fighting him less predictable than most rivals >When a Pokemon gets Taunted by Taunt, they play an angry version of their normal cry whereas in all the older games they just used the same generic angry noise for all Pokemon. It's a minor detail but nevertheless I thought it was cool to see something like it and I wasn't expecting GameFreak to implement something like that. Here's a video of it in action https://youtu.be/Fyl6uIuDLZ8?t=160 On the other hand however I hate LGPE and I don't want let's go Johto games
