the main reason delphox gets a lot of ugly hate is because it's undoubtedly uglier than braixen. doesn't mean she's ugly, just means she's worse when compared to her pre-evos. still a bad thing, tho.
what really kicks it, though, is that probably next to nobody would give a flying fuck about delphox if she weren't a starter pokemon. if it were "just a random pokemon," people would go about it like it's another kalosmon with a shitty design; business as usual. sure you'll find someone complain about it VERY RARELY, but it'd be a single drop of piss in an otherwise perfectly clean ocean.
but since she's a starter pokemon, WAAAY too much spotlight is given to her, and thus, fans will naturally be very critical of her.
but yeah, if only delphox had a better design. poor phox.
