I've only ever played through the first two. I'd agree that the second one is definitely better than the first one plotwise, but it also felt easier than its predecessor due to easier puzzles and bosses having health gauges instead of a specific number of loops.

Was the third one any good? I'm considering buying it as a way of passing the time

Shadows of Almia was my favorite game out of all of them but literally got stolen by jews at some friends Barmizazavah or whatever they fucking call it I was dragged to. Fuck you kid. Now it's probably stupid expensive to get another hard copy.
The girl protags hair is very cute and makes me hungry.

These games were a lot of fun, I remember playing Guardian Signs’ multiplayer mode with my friends growing up. We never managed to make it to the end, but I might get around to doing it myself at some point. Shadows of Almia was great too, is the first one worth a playthrough?

I tried the first one out of curiosity and beat it and it's alright. Definitely my least favorite but it was neat seeing the mechanics of the first game improve in SoA and made my most recent playthrough of that game even better. Fuck that Steelix capture though.
