>>44782124Every game so far has been designed intentionally so. Look at SWSH. It is bizarre and absurd by design, and the graphics and association with Ocarina of Time are intentional. Even the dex-cut is meant to punish players for just wanting to collect Pokemon instead of appreciating each and every single Pokemon for what they are. When a developer limits your options, it means that they are punishing players for past behaviors. It's less to do with money, and more to do with players failing to appreciate the Pokemon that ARE in the game. The gym quest in SWSH is a bizarre version of Ocarina of Time that becomes increasingly more WTF and absurd as the game continues. First three gyms mimic the three stones: Grass, Water, and Fire. The first red flag is that Water is before Fire. The next red flag: Kabu having a fully evolved team with a Gigantamax despite being paired up with the tutorial trainers. The region is thematically connected with each route making perfect sense. As you go forward into the game, characters start to act completely differently than before (Bede abandoning type and personality, Hop rotating his team, Sonia being more assertive and intelligent, Rose being more reckless and idiotic, Oleana becoming more unstable, etc.) Opal appearing out of nowhere like a fairy. The gym challenges being more absurd. Routes being different ecosystems, such as a meadow turning into a canyon turning into a tundra. The fourth to eighth gyms being based on the five medallions from OOT. Rose and Eternatus being Ganondorf and Calamity Ganon. The games are designed as intended. Red flags and bizarro moments leading to a near end of the world scenario. GF has been doing that in the past as well, but this is the first time they are flagrantly telling you "something's wrong." Even the entire region is based on the same British/Celtic mythology as the Zelda lore. This game is The Legend of Zelda done wrong on purpose.
