She was viewed less as a daughter, and more as a doll or as property. Lillie kept her emotions to herself and just followed her mother's orders. The relationship was less parent and child, and more mistress and servant. Lusamine was asked by Mohn to look after her two children, and she was so rattled after his disappearance that she tried to control everything about them and suppressed their individual free will. Gladion rebelled and stole Type: Null solely to get stronger and find his father, becoming the Beast Killer for vengeance. Lillie obeyed until she befriended a Cosmog she named Nebby. She acted out on her own and ran away. In the process, she met a husband and a wife, whom she treated as more of a father and mother, than her own. Lillie becomes more assertive but lacks real-world experience. As she bonds with Hau, the player, and most importantly, Plumeria, Lillie becomes far more motivated to grow beyond her comfort zone and choose for herself. Lillie saw this strong and independent young woman who rebelled against the system, and was happy and free while protecting her loved ones. Lillie turned to Plumeria for strength and tried to emulate her. She also wanted to participate in the Island Challenge and to go on a Pokemon journey. Lillie just had to save Nebby, her mother and brother first. Lillie let Nebby go to the player, you. Her love for Clefairy made her specialize in Fairy-type Pokemon. I like that Lillie chose a specialty later on out of her love for the Clefairy doll she had as a child. In the anime, Lillie was given the Ice-type specialty, but I hope if she returns, she truly comes into her own as a Fairy-type specialist. Snowy should evolve into Alolan Ninetales; Lillie should catch a Cleffa or Clefairy; and she should have Magearna and Fairium Z.
