>>44789128I have used Togepi a lot in my playthroughs; it is heavily underrated. Gen 2 even gives you Swift early on, so Togepi has a decent STAB to work with. There are also a lot of places in the game with fully-evolved Pokemon that give out massive EXP, such as Stantler on Route 37. I like that each Pokemon can be raised to its full potential if you put enough time and love into them. Togepi has a lot of potential, as it can learn several powerful moves on its own. In Gen 2 for STAB, it has Swift, Headbutt, Double-Edge, Rollout, and Shadow Ball. It gets Psychic, Fire Blast, and Mud-Slap. Togepi on its own if properly trained and given Mud-Slap can defeat Morty. Very few Normal-type Pokemon have the potential to make the most of special TMs, especially this early in the game, that Togepi and Togetic can. Most Normal-types are physical in nature. Togepi can even be used for Flash, and Togetic can be used for Flash and Fly. In Gen 8, the Togepi have such a massive movepool now and benefit from their Fairy-type. Togepi on its own has Baton Pass, Wish, screens, T-Wave, Draining Kiss, Swift, Psychic, Flamethrower, Mystical Fire, Shadow Ball, Stored Power, Nasty Plot, Hyper Voice, Dazzling Gleam, and Play Rough. Those options expand even more as it evolves. The stats are just assigned to make sense of the Pokemon and its role in the world, both in lore and physiology.
