Gyms need to be reworked

No.44789857 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Anon my friend, you've been given two scenarios to re-work the gym system and change Pokemon forever. Each will positively benefit the game, but they also have drawbacks.
Will you take the redpill?
>Gyms are based on pure battle strategy instead of monotype
>Each leader actually specializes in something like:
>Weather Teams
>Setup sweepers
>Defense/Stall
>Doubles/Triples/Inverse
>Entry Hazards/Chip Damage
>Games are short and sweet, but fully fleshed out and allows for optional sidequests prior to defeating the gyms that give you a sure-fire way to counter their strategies. Plenty of optional content, but the first and last gyms must be completely linear.
Or will you take the bluepill?
>18 gyms throughout the region
>Each gym specializes in a single type. No major or minor league bullshit, your goal is to pick 8 of the gyms and defeat them to qualify for the Pokemon league.
>Gyms can be done in any order and most towns are available through a central Wild Area, similarly to how SWSH should have been
>Gyms that aren't visited during the main campaign can be done as postgame. This route chooses freedom at the expense of side content.
Either way, GameFreak decides to use their badge scaling algorithm to benefit the gyms after realizing Sword and Shield didn't make effective use of it in the wild area. The path is yours to decide.
