>>44790646There are plenty of 'kids' series that get better instead of worse each iteration lol. Stop defending garbage
Honestly how do kids even like this shit anymore? Kids today have literally the greatest selection of videogames to grow up with that's ever been. The most popular game among zoomers is Minecraft, a game that allows for nearly limitless creativity and player freedom. Made by one guy (initially) with regular free updates to constantly keep adding new stuff to play with. And it's infinitely replayable compared to the 'beat the champ then drop until next year' nature of Pokemon
AND you get all that for a fraction of the constantly growing cost of keeping up with a new $40-60 (plus DLC plus online plus home plus new consoles plus tip) entry every year with less stuff than the game that came before.
I mean jesus christ at this point any kid with a shitty laptop could spend $2 on Terraria in a sale and have more content and hours of gameplay ahead of them than every mainline Pokemon game combined.
I guess the cost argument is pointless since it's not their own money they're spending. But that does raise the question of who is actually paying for all this garbage.
If I had to guess I'd assume it's split between autistic loyalists, and parents who don't play video games that just recognise the big brand name and assume quality.
