to breed the team of 6 that I wanted, one which needed an egg move AND a hidden power, it only took me about a little more than an hour. not to mention, I found TWO shinies in the mix, one with a decent spread and the other with a PERFECT spread. I didn't want the shiny versions of those two, so I kept breeding for the right ones. didn't take me long.
so, yeah: only a little more than 1 hour to get all 6 perfected, and got 2 great shinies in the process to boot. of course, I always knew that this was only because my luck in vidya gayemz is DISGUSTINGLY good. I've encountered 17-(I think) random encounter shinies just in my first playthrough of heartgold ALONE. I got pokerus on my platinum team within the first 30 minutes of the game, only to get it AGAIN halfway through my PkMn-Y run. I've encountered 31 random encounter shinies in total, not counting eggs. I've gotten shiny legendaries from wonder trading. this bullshit with lucky eggs is just "another tuesday playing vidya with Ike."
of course, even with THAT luck, I knew I was wasting my time with breeding, and eventually I became a hackchad. I can even save my progress on an sd, restart to a NEW game, and I essentially have multiple save files on my SD! very based.
