>>44791989Hmm.. don’t buy it. People are so quick to assume this is a change due to nu-gen artstyle. But I’m pretty sure this is an intentional design choice, done to both ponyta and vulpix, to be more cutesy and dainty to better reflect their new typings and design inspirations.
Sandshrew and Sandslash are good examples. Their bodies are of similar detail to their original forms, because they’re trying to be similarly bold and sharp. Ponyta is trying to be blissful forest fae, so if anything its rather nice they’d take the extra step to change its body up to reflect that instead of just being a recolor.
