Gen 8 OU sucks so I've decided to try out VGC. I've been trying to form a team around pic related for a week but it hasn't worked out. I've been using Pikalytics but are there forums and stuff I can check out? And is there any advice you can give me? Also VGC thread

What doesn't seem to be working out? If it's your team letting you down, write your team in a pastebin and tell us the general strategy for your team. Often times in Doubles the synergy of thr team is just as important as the individual's strengths. If it is playing in the format, gamesense is grown through experience. You know how it is, learning through the meta and getting to know not just the statistics but why such statistics are.

That's pretty much as far as I keep getting. I've tried making it a rain team, a trick room team and even an electric terrain team with Raichu but they all fail me. I've been seeing a lot of Tailwind Talonflame, is that good?

For one, give your Porygon protect. If something is not meant to endure hits, Protect is just the only way it's going to survive, Clef isn't impenetrable and doesn't last forever. If Clef can't slow the target, Dracovish can't do his thing. Tailwind is an excellent idea to help. Max Airstream is also a solid speed boost, or you could use it as a late game sweeper after something endured a Max Strike speed drop. You have a good core here, you just have to build around how to synergize. It sounds like you've been doing a decent job if you tried rain with it.
If you add bird as #4 consider what weaknesses your team has unchecked, what types or combos give you a hard time. Those last slots will go to rounding out your team and complimenting your core. Google Marriland's teambuilder to test your team offensively and defensivley for coverage.

For now heres a trick room team thats had great results in series 6
Lead with duskclops and amoonguss if viable (90% of the time it is) frisk will let you see if anyone on the field has safety googles. Trick room and spore turn one. You will get either of these off. Have marowak in the back if you need to switch in turn one to stop max lightening. I usually pair goodra with marowak in the back but again corviknight and gigalith destroy if you dont need marowak to block lightening

Why not just play Doubles OU?
There is no cancermax, no bans on popular mons, and you get to use a full team of 6 pokemon instead of that "pick 4" retarded shit

Clef should be min speed Relaxed with maxed out HP/defense. TWave and Moonblast are useless, use Sing and Helping Hand. You dont need to attack with Clef ever, just being a constant threat with Follow Me and Sing is enough for most games.

Drop Tri Attack and Shadow Ball on PorygonZ, use Protect and Dark Pulse instead. Dark Pulse is better cause it drops SpDef when maxed.

Lapras and Duraludon dont fit this team at all. Your previous Dracovish idea was much better, except you should be running Scarf at all times on that thing. If youre planning to play in the players cup, which is series 5, you can use stuff like Rillaboom which is a great late game clean up mon.

And what if he gets taunted? Even attacking moves that aren't meant to do damage, such as Icy Wind, are great as last ditch moves in case of getting taunted. The moment you get taunted they expect a switch out, you can take advantage of a turn they thought they had.

Porygon Z is one trick pony, so if you're using the braindead Porygon Z + Clefairy lead you're asking to be a free win.
These days you have to run Porygon Z on the back as a win condition.

Switch out or let Clef die. Taunt isnt common enough to give up some of its best support moves or run a shitty attacking move that does nothing in 90% of the cases.

So your taunted support is forced to switch out, giving the enemy a free turn because you let it get taunted, assuming you even have something to seitch out into? Taunt only lasts 3 turns, if you can keep yourself at a safe enough to eliminate the taunter and retain status move usage afterwards.
