You just have to look beyond the surface to understand the message that Game Freak is trying to illustrate in recent games. They're trying to alert us to something being off and that we are endangering ourselves and everyone on the Planet with our selfishness. Gen 3 - Behemoth, Leviathan, and Ziz from Hebrew mythology destroying the world. Gen 4 - Izanagi, Izanami, a fallen angel/devil, and God. Gen 5 - Truth vs. ideals shaping everything we do. People fighting for their ideal version over the objective truth. Truth is everything, including every ideal. Ideals are just what we want. Gen 6 - Life, death, and the order that governs them both, as well as Nordic and Celtic gods/goddesses. Gen 7 - Sun/life and moon/death goddesses. Gen 8 - The legend of King Arthur, as well as his weapons and the people, both divine and mortal, he is exposed to. Eternatus is based on the end-times and Armageddon. Calyrex has associations with the Hojo Clan as well as a prophetic king who will predict the end-times. Every game is hinting at the apocalypse now. I have no idea why, but Game Freak seems to believe in that prophecy so much that they have repeated it for 5 generations. It's the same pattern, and I find that concerning.
