So you're telling me gaining plus 2 to speed due to speed boost and plus 1 to sp.atk and def in 1 turn wouldn't be better? That would make it one of the most threatening set up sweepers in the meta because it would outspeed everything even scarf users.

Yeah, Fairy is fucking gay, but if it were Dragon, it would also get Dragon Pulse or Draco Meteor, which are way better than Air Slash. Not to mention it wouldn't be quad weak to stealth rocks. It'd have the same number of weaknesses as Bug/Flying, but no 4x weakness, on top of having 5 resistances.

Yeah, it wouldn’t. Speed Boost isn’t going to make up for its other issues

Dragonflies are named actually after devils, not dragons. But in any case, the dragonfly legend has nothing to do with Japan. To Japan, Yanmega is just a flying insect, hence Bug/Flying.

86/86/56 defenses aren't half bad on the physical side, especially since it'd resist Fighting and Ground, two of the most common offensive types. Just add +10 to hp, defense, and special defense to but its BST into line with all the other Gen 4 fatmons.

I don't think you understand how powerful being able to outspeed everything while boosting is. Blaziken got banned to Ubers with the addition of speed boost while it has SD. You could argue that Blaziken has a better defensive typing and you would be correct but we also have access to heavy duty boots to help with it's weakness to SR.

Thats just one issue. And I mentioned that issue a few posts back.

This you use Yanmega as a late game sweeper, youll have team mates that can take out the steel type, or it will have been weakened enough for a quiver dance boosted bug buzz could take it out anyway.

It objectively would make it more threatening to deal with if it had quiver dance along with speed boost. The tinted lense could still be used as a wall breaker, and a slower but still terrifying sweeper after a Quiver dance.
