>>44815937Look I won’t lie, walking up to a fellow trainer and challenging him to a battle in the middle of an early-game area was fucking magical. For that one single moment I felt more immersed in the world of Pokemon than ever before
But then once the initial multiplayer buzz wears off you realizd what the game really is: Just a poorly-moderated experiment.
Even ignoring all the pricey (real world money btw) cosmetics, the unbalanced player market, super duper rare shinies, fucked up breeding mechanics, lack of several integral features from various generations, etc, you will wind up gettingg the feeling that the creators have no clue what they’re doing.
The Elite Four in each region are far too strong, several gym leaders have been buffed for no reason (Seriously D/P/Pt was fine as it was) and shit like the Giratina fight is a bad omen—they’re more interested in integrating hamfisted pseudo raid battles and brand new nonsensical content than they are in delivering a genuine Pokemon experience + online, which is what the game sells itself as.
You’re better off just emulating the old games. At least you can hack in your favorite mons or access Event content to your hearts content when “playing offline”
tl;dr: cool idea shoddy execution
