In fact, Pokemon has shit-tier human waifus as not only are the designs mediocre at best but none of them have any character or backstory. The literal only reason to waifu a Pokemon human is because you like the look of them at which point why not go for one of the better looking characters from another franchise?
Pokemon, however, are unique to Pokemon and only Pokemon. If you're going to waifu/husbando anything from this franchise, a Pokemon is the only sensible choice.
