Some people go for walks, some sleep all day, some read, some cook, some write, etc. This guy is not like the leaffag or anything, he knows it's all just a fantasy and it helps him feel better, there's nothing wrong with that.
Talking to a family or a counselor aren't always options, you actually have to be quite lucky to have family that'll listen and help you, that is if they even believe you in the first place, and counselors cost money, plus they don't always work. Some genuinely are worse than talking to a wall, and you may spend thousands before finding one that "clicks". Meanwhile, you could and should find ways to alleviate your mind in order to not feel bad, and fantasizing is a perfectly valid way of doing so, as long as it's not full blown escapism/maladaptive daydreaming.
Seeing how aggressive you're getting over something so inoffensive does genuinely look like you're projecting something, all this anger isn't normal. Maybe you should do like he does and find something that makes you happy and distracts your mind even if for a little bit.
