I honestly think you could just run any water type and beat the game with those two though

I would ditch kingdra for gyarados so you can run the old GyaraVire gag.

I see Ground attacks giving you trouble without gyarados or Tangrowth around. What is Bastiodon there for?

I realize you're doing single player but even in that, bastiodon is an odd choice.
