>Charmeleon has some fans and appears multiple times in the anime
>Ivysaur has Smash Bros clout
Compared to them, Wartortle has nothing. Can you even remember a single episode that featured a Wartortle? I'm pretty sure at least an Ivysaur appeared in the newest anime
Sure, Tangela and Seel may be obscure, but if it wasn't for the fact that Wartortle is a starter I would have 100% forgotten about him by now
