Sent to the Pokemon World

No.44852506 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Daily reminder that the majority of Anons on /vp/ would be average trainers at best if they were sent to the Pokemon world.
>Pokemon must each be bonded with individually.
>Can't forcefeed your Pokemon supplements to make them stronger
>No held items, TMs, cheap strategies, etc.
>Pokemon locations are different than in the games, making all meta knowledge worthless
>Even mediocre trainers can wipe the floor with a Smogon player if they "Love / Trust in their Pokemon" enough
The best you have to offer is your knowledge of type advantages, and depending on the encounter that might wind up being useless. We've seen ice types shrug off flames because they're "too cold," ground attacks sometimes hit flying types, etc.
Now when we consider the fact that most people probably aren't physically fit enough to make it very far from home (imagine all that hiking, walking, plus shit like the Orange Island trials) and it's clear that most people here would enjoy only middling-to-average success. By the time you've assembled a team of six capable Pokemon you'll probably be in your thirties, and reaching the eighth gym leader in a single region could takes years. And when you consider that absolute monsters like Lance, Cynthia, and Leon rule the upper echelons of Pokemon battling there's no chance whatsoever that you will ever become the Champion
Find a few nice Pokemon, get a house, get married and be happy with your 2-3 badges. There's no shame in settling down
