If he had that kind of chops in StarCraft 2 or another e-sport, he'd get a goddamn NPC named after him in the next expansion. But Japan doesn't give a shit because he's a gaijin. They'll whore out special events for Japanese companies but not for gaijin champions.
And, because Pokemon is a low skill, luck dependent 'sport' with an unpopular tournament format, casuals don't give a fuck and the constant need to prove yourself as the game becomes more and more luck based erodes what ecelebrity you have.
I don't care that players like aim were good in Gen IV, it's Gen VIII now and the game is different and he can't keep up. Treating Gen IV skill like Gen VIII skill is like saying a player from the roids era of baseball could adapt to the stats-driven game of today.
tl;dr - this franchise is worthless and being the king of worthless just makes you sad. I both admire and pity Wolfe Glick.
