I get that England is a constitutional monarchy, but they don't need to keep shoving in all this royalty motif shit, especially when it's based on the UK where the queen doesn't have any actual power.
They also missed the chance to make Leon an antagonist. Given how obvious it was that Chairman Rose was the antagonist, they really could've had Leon as a secondary one, or Rose's partner since the league in Galar screams corruption, requiring gym challengers to be endorsed by some sort of person in an esteemed position. Then we could've had a double battle against him with Hop as our partner and it would've been a really good way to force Hop to stop looking up to Leon so much.
He's a crappy poorly written character with wasted potential. Like Cynthia and Steven the player is forced to interact with Leon a lot throughout the game, so he really should've had a personality other than "I'm the champion, look at how much attention I get, I'm so strong!"
