Except he's not. He's visibly sad and actually does a bad job at hiding it, because who wouldn't be? It's a normal, human reaction, but he knows it's YOUR moment and that he can't ruin it for you by wallowing, so like any person with good sportmanship he quickly puts it behind him in order to celebrate your achievement. That's the complete opposite of being a sore loser.

Then all of sudden he gets fucking bodied hard in front of everyone and his whole outfit and personality suddenly no longer makes sense no choice but to hide your tears and play it cool. He ends up take over battle tower where he adopts a weird ringleader circus outfit since he is a loser now and views all his pokemon as fucking clowns. Does not even allow himself to wear his hat but still carries it.

Fucking embarrassing only thing that could make it worse is if he goes home and all his trophies and pictures are replaced with yours.

He's not. He is happy that he finally lost to someone, but then again, you cherry-pick for your own personal circumstances. Leon of course is upset that he lost, but he got over himself very quickly because he realized that he had to be dethroned sooner or later.

There is a part of Leon that is probably upset and angry at himself for losing, but he is a good sport. He has been Champion for so long, and he studied under Master Mustard on the Isle of Armor. Leon knew sooner or later someone had to dethrone him, and he had a feeling that the player was the one who would do it. That is why Leon's theme is the Hall of Fame theme. The game is already telling you that your victory over Leon is a foregone conclusion. The point of the battle is for two trainers to compete and have fun, win or lose. Everyone is caught up in victory or defeat, but it doesn't matter. What is important is having a good time and doing the best you can do. Leon did his best, and he lost. He can't beat himself down; he loves himself and his Pokemon too much to do that.

In fact, the people who don't show emotions after losing are the weird ones, if you wanted to win so badly you get sad or angry after losing then it means you were actually invested in the battle, I mean yeah, there's professionalism in being mature in defeat and all but I always did like the people who got pissed or sad they lost

Kukui was all about finding someone good enough to beat him in his new league since he didn't wanna be champ himself
You utterly crush Hau and he's disappointed that even now you
re way stronger than him but he won't give up

It's no wonder Leon reacts the way he does when defeated his region is the only one where being champion was the main motivation and the main thing he did he had nothing but being the champion, that's where the battle tower comes in, he had to find something else to do and enjoy and with no audience to impress he can express frustration at losing now

Course in the end it really doesn't matter as all player characters turn down championship to keep traveling region and meeting other trainers as strong if not stronger than them
