It goes without saying that Pokemon has lost its touch with children. Zoomies only seem to be interested in their Fortnites and Minecrafts. Considering the current state of the franchise with multiple subscription services and models, the antiquated version system, and the lack of freedom in the maps that prevents most anyone from actually playing the game, how can we change the series to be more appealing to children?
It really seems like the only one that considers the games fine now are the same twitter-mongering funko pop collectors that somehow manage to find meaning in even the most rancid shit from brand name alone.
Pic related, Mario 64 was notorious for using non-linearity as a means to make things simpler for young kids that weren't able to overcome certain challenges. Do you think an 18 gym system with varying difficulty and a vast, open world would help with this?
>but the Wild Are-
is a hallway. The Isle of Armor is infinitely closer to how things should be, but my biggest fear is that Gen 9 will roll around and although the wild area won't be cut, they'll just make it another hallway like SWSH's was and refuse to connect it to any of the towns. We need a Hyrule Field kind of hub world, I think.
