At the end of the day being a salty faggot about Houndour not being available doesn't actually make gen 2's Pokemon availability bad. You're just asspain that your minimal effort doesn't magically cobble together a kino team. Having a team of cool ass Pokemon should be hard. This wasn't even exclusive to Johto. Kanto obscures the coolest of cool pokemon behind low appearance rates, limited moon stones, the safari zone, and off the beaten path locations of the game. And while Hoenn and Sinnoh moved towards making cool and new Pokemon easily accessed they still had vestiges of this design element with Pokemon like Feebas, Relicanth, Gible, and Spiritomb.
Gen 5 moved away from this further (although still not entirely, tynamo and deino exist) but at least with BW2 you had a large variety of side areas off each main path you had to hit in order to get the full breadth of available Pokemon in a given area.
Now you just have nearly every Pokemon in existence shitcrammed into routes with the only attempt to obscure it from easy capture being a (relatively) low appearance rate. It's boring, it's unengaging, and most importantly, it's soulless

Every single time someone tells me that gen 2 has bad distribution I know I'm either talking to a simpleton or a diehard Houndoom fan.

Exactly, I don't mind the game making us work for a cool team. And I really like secrets in the game. But there has to be a way to let us find out in game, either by talking to an obscure NPC or something. How would anyone know to evolve G. Yamask or Farfetch'd without a guide?

trying out every possible item + level up at a specific time or maxing out friendship for literally every pokemon seems tedious aswell. iirc the gen 5 professor gave some vague descriptions on that, but that and very few NPCs who give you hints on that are about it.
I wonder how many people found spiritomb without looking it up.
how am I supposed to know which version exclusives which game has before buying it?

I usually try out game mechanics as long as they're not tedious. if it's not fun, why bother

Everyone agrees that you should have to put in work for a cooler team than Ariados /
Noctowl / Starter. But running around fighting 10000 Golbat/Graveler before finding a cool mon isn't hard, it's just tedious. Leveling up a G. Yamask on every named location on the map before you find the right one isn't hard, it's just tedious and completely random. You're confusing hard with tedious. Hope this helps!

And having it hold the Leek increases the crit rate dramatically, to the point where it should be critting every two hits - add a crit boosted move and it's guaranteed. If you still can't evolve it even while it's holding the stick, you're pitifully bad at the game or an extreme lucklet.
And I'm not the OP you absolute peabrained dipstick. OP's posts are bad, but yours are even worse.
