Town was a symptom, not the cause.
90% of the things cut from SWSH were added to HOME as incentives so people would buy it.
The fact the games are shit is another problem entirely that shows they need to go back to the design philosophy Gen 6 had.

The game was actually dogshit too. Like, the concept is ok but it's such a barebones games with completely unpolished graphics, gameplay, and "story". Like holy shit bro, they could've just not released it yet and spent more time on it, not like anyone was waiting on the game to release

Fuck off. The game had clearly shown that it was hacked together and rushed for release. It doesn't even hold a candle compared to Gamefreak's previous non-Pokemon games that clearly had better quality and had a team that gave the shit to making sure that it was high quality. The recent Pokemon games have done nothing but to encourage Gamefreak's laziness and letting them know that they can half-ass it everytime just to that they can score a easy profit out of it.

It reeks of outdated game design too, I'm certain gamefreak lives in an almost completely self contained bubble that never gets any new input or listens to any sort of criticism. To be fair, why would they, they're one of the biggest game franchises, if not THE biggest, on the planet.

Not that guy but you could catch everyone pokemon from within the 4 gen 6 games alone (excluding events but those did happen in their lifepspan) it also had free online and you could access the GTS from within the game itself
