I was taking inspiration from other fast gen I mons Scyther (mainly) and Gengar, but mostly I just really think there should be some fast Rock types, the niche is entirely filled by Lycanroc

Also fast defensive mons are rare

I guess the way to fix this is just to alter Kanto's encounters and level curve entirely. FRLG was pretty bad in the first place, you could skip most trainers and still end up overleveled. Basically just allow a lot of shitmons you would never see to be caught earlier on

Yeah, and I'm saying that people would say that having a 510 BST Onix in the early game is fine because Johto let you have Heracross before the 3rd Gym.
There are very little Pokemon these days that have poor level up movepools. Even Sandslash has a decent level up movepool these days and it's movepool used to be dogshit too
