Why doesn't Nintendo just release Gens 1-7 on the Switch eShop and make an app like Poke Transfer that lets you move all your mons directly into HOME?

What work? It's a straight port. For the DS/3DS games just split the screen. Left half as top screen, right half as bottom screen.

Switch already has touch controls on it's screen so there shouldn't be a single issue.

Because if all of the games are just available, that takes away the ability to sell you updated/remade versions of them. A lot fewer people will buy a game that they already recently bought just because it's slightly more polished.

I still have my game boy and Gold, Silver and Crystal, the batteries I replaced in high school have long since died though and I really don't feel like cracking open the carts to change them every few years.
