Hidden Power now has 120 BP when used by Unown.
Unown can learn it four times and you can change the typing of each one after you fill the Unown Dex.

Did I fix them?

It seems a tad strong in sp, they're available very early where 120bp and type coverage is scarce, this'd kill all common early game coverage mons for sure

They cannot be made competitive without changing the theme completely like giving them an evolution or drastically changing their base stats. Even then, their design is antithetical to the battling system: you can only use one move or switch out.
They will never be fun to use in SP either as there is no move to chose or to learn for that matter, so there is not even any progression beyond leveling.
That's fine though, their real purpose is for collecting, not battling. However, they are my least favorite gen 2 mon because they even suck at that. They are all usually stashed away in one place. If they appeared all over the region, with different letters at different times and places, and as a rare encounter, then they would be more memorable.

HOW TO FIX UNOWN

Give it a new form where it acts like a fucking giant swarm and can use powerful psychic moves. Like how they were in the movie.

Maybe the more hp it loses the less unown are in the swarm and the less power it has

According to OP you can only teach it 4 times when you complete the Unown dex so you have to halt your progress and do some little work. I'd say the reward is good enough for the work invested in it.

I think it's because they're letters. One letter is kinda useless on its own, but in a group, they can convey any idea.

This is why I hate Arceus's design. Not its concept. It should have either had something to do with the Unowns, a Phione-Manaphy like connection, and its design (or at least its fence) should have been more similar to them.

Before Gen 4, Unowns were the closest thing we had to a cosmic ruler and they had way more potential than Arceus.

The TCG gave them different Poke Powers back then, and it was actually an interesting thing. I was disappointed when Gen 4 came out, featured them in two different areas and gave them nothing interesting.

Not really, it still only has 48 base Speed, HP, Defense, and Sp. Defense so it'll get outsped and 1 shot almost effortlessly, and even 72 base Sp. Attack isn't that great with a 120 base power move. You're gonna have to fix the stats, too.
