If you want to blame anything, blame the fucking games that force this retarded shit in multiple gens. Legendary Bird trio in multiple regions, so well-known and common that Galarians can literally mistake their own legendary birds for the other legendary birds not to mention all of the literalwhos in post-game content like Battle Frontier and Towers that have legendaries.

This isn't even remotely an anime issue. It's the result of the source material overusing legendaries.
