Bros I need advice, for the first time in my life playing Pokemon I found a shiny in the wild

I want to catch it but I don’t want to use a masterball. Also can Mawile escape battle at all?

It’s bashful nature so I don’t think it’s a good nature but after I defeat the Elite 4 I’ll transfer it to HG because I’m not going to miss the opportunity to have a shiny following me

Natures are pretty meaningless except for hyper autistic high frontier encounters and you can always utilize sets to get around it like Baton Pass. Shiny overworld sprites is indeed a really nice feature in HGSS.

I have the entire Kanto dex shiny as a result of many trades and a little bit of Masuda method breeding (plus cloning). That has been my focus over the last couple weeks.

It took me until X and Y to see one. Zubat in one the caves, and Dusclops in the Friend Safari. I have also caught a couple from Let's Go (Caterpie, Weedle, etc), and have a couple shinies in Go (Magikarp and Baltoy).

I'm not confident I can spot most shinies, especially the ones with subtle differences. I have no idea how many I might have missed lol.

I remember doing this on my first playthrough on Silver. I was on autopilot attacking everything with the sound off, didn't even notice the shiny effect as I blinked until it was too late, and the shiny Swinub fell off the screen the second I noticed it.

Note this was at a time when a lot of players, myself included were just learning what Shiny was.
