I couldn't agree more I fucking love hoenn pokemon the most as a whole.
I think it's because it's the perfect middle point of gen 1 and 2's simplicity and gen4+ more intricate designs. It also doesn't feel like they've completely run out of new ideas like newer games
Take pic related, it's just a fire turtle, yet it feels so unique and it's design has a lot too it without any of it feeling unnecessarily additive
