its because Nintendo knows their fanbase. DK Tropical Freeze is 6 years old and still full price because Nintendo knows people will pay that much for their games.

It honestly doesn't matter how much a video game is, as long as the public perceives it as a fair and legal price. People are like sheep sometimes. Tell them that $60 is the "standard" price of a video game now, and they'll pay that price. Present logical, ethical, and moral arguments to support the price hike, and people will definitely pay. Nintendo is a place for good boys and girls.

It's worse here in Canada. There's a 34 cent difference between CAD and USD, so games are typically $80. It equals out sure, but on paper you see $80 and say 'fucking hell its so much higher here'. You're paying the same amount but it feels worse buying a new game.

All I know is they used to be cheaper. I remember when I could afford to buy games monthly on my nickle and dime allowance as a kid in the 90s. Everythings gone up but the value of the dollar itself.

I got for the price of a new game with the Pokeball a few years back. Was it worth it? Not really, but I used to put the Pokeball in my car to spin Pokestops on my way to work, that was a nice novelty to have.
