They're just empty. Look at the USUM ones - the background colours are eye-catching, there's razzle dazzle all over and Ultra Necrozma is even teased in the background of each. Compare that to SwSh's ones just being a plain gradient with some nonsensical lines squiggled on, there's just no feeling behind it.

I personally have no problem with SWSH. There were several lines in the game that were extremely philosophical. I just had to talk to every single trainer in the game. That's now my favorite part of playing Pokemon. Talking to people and understanding where they are coming from and what they have to say. There's a hidden message in everything in a video game: developers put them in on purpose.
