In general, though, I really am shocked more people just don't draw/act out the modern starters as being animals anyway. Yes, I do get the job gimmick/"humanoid" complaints but they're still animals at heart. I can see Incineroar and Emboar on four legs, an Inteleon doing a basilisk lizard run fwipping its head and tongue all around, or Greninja in an idle frog pose sticking its tongue out to catch flies. It feels like...for all Game Freak needs a smack in design philosophy, the fandom's lost a lot of the imagination it gave to mons they used to do in earlier gens. I'm old enough to remember Blaziken itself being the fursuit of its day, now we have these threads endlessly where nostalgiafags argue it's just a big ole' chicken. You know?
